For commercial lines, buyers should ask for proof around:

  • Table, rule, and algorithm governance.

  • Run a representative commercial product with real rating tables and referral triggers.
  • Demonstrate parallel testing of a new rate version against production logic.
  • Show how exceptions are surfaced to underwriting and how decisions are logged.
  • Validate performance under peak quote volume assumptions.

Implementation risks to pressure-test early

  • Rating logic fragmentation across PAS, spreadsheets, and partner channels.
